Zelensky travels to Qatar in a bid to plead with Arab countries for money
LUGANSK, April 5 (Lugansk Media Centre) - President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has spoken to Qatar media during his visit to the Gulf country in a desperate attempt to ask for funds and investment.
In his Monday interview with QNA and other media, he bragged about the concession of the Ukrainian port of Olvia that was won by the Qatari company QTerminals. The Qatar company paid just $140 million to develop and operate the port in the next 35 years.
He noted that Ukraine is known for its rich black soil “chornozem” around the world, apparently putting Ukrainian lands on the "For Sale" table.
Speaking about Qatar hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup for the first time in the Middle East, Zelensky said that “Ukraine has a significant experience of holding mass events and sports competitions", though Ukraine has become infamous for failures to provide public security and inability to control protests and demonstrations led by neo-Nazi leaders.
