Zakharchenko's assassination not to affect Minsk Agreements – Deinego
LUGANSK, September 1 (Lugansk Media Centre) – The death of the DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko shall not affect the Minsk Agreements, said LPR acting Foreign Minister representing the Republic at Minsk talks Vladislav Deinego.
DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko was killed in a restaurnat blast in Donetsk city center on August 31. Twelve people were injured. Dmitriy Trapeznikov was appointed acting DPR head.
"There is no sense in speaking about it (Zakharchenko's death influence on the agreements). The Minsk Agreements are the only tool we have for a peaceful settlement to the conflict. If one left the ranks it doesn't mean the ranks won't close and move forward," Deinego said.
"No changes are possible. He assumed obligations not as Alexander Vladimirovich Zakharchenko but on the behalf of the Republic, there is no doubt about it."
Alexander Vladimirovich Zakharchenko was born on June 26, 1976.
He graduated from the Donetsk College of Industrial Automatics with honors, worked at a mine, then started a business.
He supported Donbass independence movement after new authorities came to power in Ukraine after the 2014 coup-d'etat in Kiev. During his fight against Kiev's offensive in Donbass Zakharchenko sustained several injuries.
On August 8, 2014 Zakharchenko was appointed the Chairman of the Council of Ministers by the DPR Supreme Council. Then he won the Head’s election on November 2, 2014 with a sweeping majority.
