LUGANSK, February 21 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Western countries are using the Donbass conflict to restrain Russia’s growing power, Lugansk People’s Republic Foreign Minister, LPR envoy to the Minsk talks Vladislav Deinego said at an international workshop and a visiting session of the Livadia Club “Donbass in the centre of geopolitical transformation” in Lugansk.

The West is not critical of the Ukrainian leadership who actually have sabotaged the Minsk agreements by failing all deadlines, Deinego said.

“Europe professes the double standards policy which clearly shows in its attitudes. This is where Donbass is on Europe’s or, perhaps, the world geopolitical map,” he said.

The double standards policy (pursued by the West is aimed at using) Donbass as an irritant on the Russian Federation borders to create a long-term simmering conflict, which prevents Russia from developing its system of defence and building and expanding the Russian World,” the LPR diplomat said.

He said that the LPR and the DPR would not let anyone use them for geopolitical interests.

“We’ve never been an object of politics and will never allow to put us in this situation. We’ve always determined our future ourselves. We’ve always influenced events in this land (Donbass) and won’t let anyone interfere in this process,” Deinego said

The Livadia Club was set up in Crimea in early December 2018 as an informal associations to promote the idea of the Russian World.
