Voter turnout surges past 56 pc in LPR Elections as of 2 p.m.
LUGANSK, November 11 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Voter turnout in November 11 elections has surpassed 56 pc as of 14.00 (UTC+3), the Central Election Comission said.
"The turnout has reached 56.5 pc as of 2 p.m. No violations have been recorded," the commission's chairwoman Elena Kravchenko said.
Voting stations opened across the LPR at 8 a.m. They are scheduled to close at 8 p.m., but their operation might be prolonged.
The four candidates running for Head have promised to focus on improving economy, living standards, heath care and social guarantees, and to fight corruption.
In accordance with the Article 16 of the Election Law, in order to win a candidate needs the majority of votes cast.
