Vostokugol produces twice as much coal in July compared with May - director general
LUGANSK, August 11 (Lugansk Media Centre) - The Lugansk People’s Republic's Vostokugol coal mining company production in July increased two-fold from May when this company was established, director general of the state-owned enterprise Vladimir Shatokhin said at a meeting with chairman of the LPR government Sergey Kozlov.
“The company began to operate on May 1, 2020 gradually increasing the output,” Shatokhin said. “We produced 286,000 tons of coal in May, 423,000 tons in June and exceeded the 500,000 benchmark in July which is nearly twice as much compared with May when we began working.”
“Thanks to repairs of our ore processing factories we reduced accident rate and produced more than half a million tons of coal in July,” he added.
“High targets were achieved due to all kinds of assistance we received including financial support. The Nikolai Barakov mine has already launched a new face and other Vostokugol branches will launch nine faces later this year as part of the company development plan,” Shatokhin said.
“We haven’t seen so many (new) coal faces in our production plan since 2014. It will enable us to meet the production targets,” the Vostokugol director general said.
“Summing up the results of the three months I want to note that the company has made a successful start and has good prospects. The LPR government did everything to help us fulfil this programme (to restructure the coal industry - eds Lugansk Media Centre) and develop successfully,” he said.
On July 18, the Republican Fuel Company Vostokugol produced its 500,000th ton of coal, 2.5 months after its establishment of the company and in accordance with schedule.
Earlier, the LPR government announced a coal industry restructuring programme. Its key objectives were set forth by LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik who said that thanks to the restructuring, Vostokugol would become the LPR economy locomotive.
Vostokugol brings together 56 companies employing more than 30,000 people.
