Ukrainian soldier defects to LPR telling of hunger strike in Ukrainian army
LUGANSK, September 29 (Lugansk Media Center) – A Ukrainian solder has come over to the LPR side, said the LPR People's Militia acting chief-of-staff Michael Filiponenko.
He said that a soldier of the 3rd mechanized battalion, 14th separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian army left his unit's positions in the vicinity of Stanitsa Luganskaya.
"His activity as a Ukrainian soldier is being examined; if he is found not guilty of shelling LPR territories, he will be granted the opportunity to join the ranks of the LPR People's Militia," Filiponenko said.
The soldier also told LPR military that the servicemen of the 3rd mechanized battalion and tank battalion of the 14th separate mechanized brigade had announced hunger strike upon learning that the rotation in the so-called 'ATO zone' had been postponed till late November.
