Ukrainian media hate campaign makes girl from Kiev-held area left LPR beauty contest
A resident of a Kiev-controlled area withdrew from the Miss LPR 2017 beauty contest because of the hate campaign unleashed by Ukrainian media.
“Elena who lives in a Kiev-held area, could not bear the pressure from Ukrainian mass media; there was a lot of bullying, she phoned to say she couldn’t stand it,” contest organizer Evgeniy Muravyov told a news briefing at Lugansk Media Centre.
Miss LPR 2017 finals will take place at the Lenin Palace of Culture in Lugansk on 8 June. The contestants comprise seven Lugansk residents, four Alchevsk residents, a resident of Snezhnoye (DPR) and one resident from DPR capital Donetsk.
Lugansk resident Alexandra Kargina won LPR’s first beauty pageant in 2015. In 2016, the LPR beauty contest crown was awarded to Donbass State Technical University student Kristina Simakova.
