LUGANSK, February 25 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Kiev forces violated the ceasefire in the responsibility zone of the Lugansk People’s Republic three times on Thursday, the LPR People’s Militia press service reported.

“Over the past 24 hours, monitors of the LPR Office at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) recorded three ceasefire violations by Ukrainian forces,” the report said.

On the Debaltsevo axis, Ukrainian army 59th Brigade servicemen fired a grenade launcher and small arms twice at the Nizhneye Lozovoye area expending four grenade launcher rounds. An LPR militiaman was wounded in Ukrainian sniper fire when moving at the observation post.

59th Brigade 9th Battalion gunmen at positions in the Luganskoye settlement area fired five automatic grenade launcher rounds at the Lozovoye settlement, the report said.

These facts were promptly reported to Ukraine’s representative at the JCCC “for the purpose of making Ukraine take measures and preventing it from accusing the Republic of provocations,” the LPR People’s Militia said.

The members of the Contact Group have announced ceasefire more than 20 times since the autumn of 2014. Kiev forces regularly violated the truce opening fire with large calibre artillery, mortars and tank guns which were to have been withdrawn in accordance with the Minsk agreements.

The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. Conflict settlement relies on the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, signed on February 12, 2015 in the Belarussian capital by the Contact Group members and coordinated by the Normandy Four heads of states (Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine). The document provides for ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line.
