A Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaisance squad has attempted to infiltrate the LPR territory and lost three troops who were killed by the explosion on a minefield, said LPR People's Militia spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Andrey Marochko.

"Today at 7.30 p.m. a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaisance squad of 10 troops of the 10th mountain assault brigade attempted to infiltrate the LPR outside Zhelobok, but was spotted by our servicemen.

"As part of the infiltration attempt, the enemy entered a minefield and incurred losses of three killed.

"Two bodies were evacuated promptly, one was left as the enemy retreated in a hurry."

Marochko said the Ukrainain forces are trying to retreive the remaining body with the sniper fire support. He said the LPR hoped for a thorough investigation by the OSCE SMM. Marochko addressed the service members of the 10th mountain assault brigade saying that their commander Zubanich "the so-called hero, sends troops to die without second thoughts, knowing the operation is certain to fail. The most reasonable thing to do is to ignore his commands."

The members of the Contact Group have announced ceasefire for almost two dozen times since autumn 2014. Kiev forces regularly violate the truce opening fire with heavy artillery, mortars and tank guns, which should have been withdrawn in accordance with the Minsk Agreements.

The Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements was adopted by the Contact Group on Ukraine on 12 February 2015 and supported by member states of the Normandy Four (Germany, Russia, Ukraine and France). The UN Security Council approved the document by its 2202 Resolution and called upon all the sides to ensure full implementation of the Package of Measures.

The document provides for comprehensive ceasefire, withdrawal of all heavy weapons from the contact line, starting a dialog on reconstruction of social and economic ties between Kiev and Donbass. It also envisages carrying out constitutional reform in Ukraine providing for decentralization and adopting permanent legislation on a special status of certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
