Ukrainian forces jam OSCE SMM drones in Popasnaya area - LPR militia
LUGANSK, October 15 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Kiev army used radio electronic warfare systems to jam unmanned aerial vehicles of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in the Popasnaya area, Lugansk People’s Republic People’s Militia reported.
“To prevent the detection of banned weapons by OSCE unmanned aerial vehicles in 30th Brigade’s responsibility zone, the Ukrainian army’s 20th Separate Electronic Warfare battalion used a Bukovel-AD station to jam OSCE UAV navigation channels in the Popasnaya area,” the report said.
The LPR militia repeatedly reported the use of radio electronic warfare equipment by Kiev forces to interfere with the activity of OSCE SMM monitors in the so-called “Joint Forces Operation” zone.
The Ukrainian government launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. Conflict settlement relies on the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements, signed on February 12, 2015 in the Belarussian capital by the Contact Group members and coordinated by the Normandy Four heads of states (Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine). The document provides for ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line.
