Ukrainian forces intercept SMM's unmanned aerial vehicle over Zolotoye
LUGANSK, July 22 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Ukrainian forces intercepted an OSCE SMM unmanned aerial vehicle over Zolotoye, the LPR People's Militia said.
"The SMM lost its UAV in the vicinity of a 30th brigade checkpoint outside Zolotoye after the enemy actively used electronic warfare system," the report reads.
The activity of Ukrainian EW manoeuvre groups was also reported in vicinity of Nizhneye, their aim is to prevent the SMM from recording Ukrainian military equipment.
Employing combat aviation and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in 30km-wide zone along the line of contact is banned under Article 7 of Minsk Memorandum, with the exception to OSCE SMM UAVs.
Ukrainian authorities launched the so-called anti-terrorist operation against Donbass in April 2014. Conflict settlement is based on the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements signed in the Belarussian capital on February 12, 2015 by the Contact Group members and coordinated by the heads of the “Normandy Four” states (Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine). The document provides for ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line.
