Ukraine deploys Polish mercenaries to Treyokhizbenka area - LPR People’s Militia
LUGANSK, October 16 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Kiev has deployed Polish mercenaries, equipped with NATO weapons, to the contact line in the Tryokhizbenka area, Lugansk People’s Republic People’s Militia spokesman Andrey Marochko said at a press briefing at the Lugansk Media Centre on Tuesday.
Kiev is continuing to build up forces and hardware at the Donbass contact line and use foreign mercenaries’ services, Marochko said.
“According to our information, up to 30 gunmen armed with NATO-issue weapons and speaking Polish, arrived in the Tryokhizbenka settlement area on October 14 which is the responsibility zone of the Ukrainian army’s 53rd Separate Mechanised Brigade,” he said.
Earlier, LPR People’s Militia acting chief Mikhail Filiponenko said that the Ukrainian army had deployed 40 mercenaries from Poland and Georgia in the Valuiskoye village, Stanichno-Luganskiy District.
The Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements was adopted by the Contact Group on Ukraine on February 12, 2015 and supported by member states of the Normandy Four (Germany, Russia, Ukraine and France). The UN Security Council approved the document by its 2202 Resolution and called upon all the sides to ensure full implementation of the Package of Measures.
The document provides for comprehensive ceasefire, withdrawal of all heavy weapons from the contact line, starting a dialog on reconstruction of social and economic ties between Kiev and Donbass. It also envisages carrying out constitutional reform in Ukraine providing for decentralization and adopting permanent legislation on a special status of certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
