Two COVID-19 patients die in LPR over 24 hours - Health Ministry
LUGANSK, February 16 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Two people have died due to COVID-19 in the Lugansk People’s Republic over the past 24 hours, the LPR Healthcare Ministry press service reported.
“Two COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded which brings the LPR coronavirus infection death toll to 251 since the beginning of the pandemic,” the report said.
The World Health Organisation called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. According to the WHO, the number of coronavirus contacts across the world has exceeded 108.4 million by now; of those, over 2.3 million people have died. The LPR has confirmed 2,871 COVID-19 cases.
To prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection, the LPR authorities put the Republic on high alert and introduced lockdown measures.
