LUGANSK, October 9 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Two people have died due to COVID-19 in the Lugansk People’s Republic over the past 24 hours, the LPR Healthcare Ministry press service reported.
“Two COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded which brings the LPR coronavirus infection death toll to 45,” the report said.
The World Health Organisation called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. As of now, the number of coronavirus contacts across the world has exceeded 35.8 million; of those, more than one million people have died. The LPR has confirmed 1,153 COVID-19 cases.
To prevent the spreading of the coronavirus infection, the LPR authorities put the Republic on high alert and introduced lockdown measures. Part of restrictions have been eased by now.
