Thousand servicemen and dozens of equipment parade along Lugansk streets on V-Day (PHOTOS)
LUGANSK, May 9 (Lugansk Media Centre) - A military parade marking the 73rd anniversary of Victory Day took place on Teatralnaya Square in central Lugansk.
Over a thousand service members of the LPR People's Militia and law enforcement agencies marched along the streets of Lugansk, together with six dozen of military equipment pieces.
LPR acting head Leonid Pasechnik inspected the Parade, while the commander of the LPR Combined Task Force Colonel Yan Leschenko.
The parade was led by a legendary WWII-era T-34 tank, the defense agency said.
T-72 tanks, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, BTR-80 armored personnel carriers, 152mm self-propelled Gvozdika howitzers and 152mm MSTA-B howitzers, 122mm D-30 howitzers, BM-21 MLRS Grad pieces, air defense missile systems Strela-10 followed the infantry.
No incidents occurred during the parade.
After the parade, peace marchers walked across the square together with “Immortal Regiment” column participants carrying the photos of their relatives who defended the Motherland during the World War II and in the course of Kiev’s offensive against Donbass.
