The OSCE insists on the fastest reconstruction of the bridge in Stanitsa for civilians
The OSCE SMM insists on the fastest reconstruction of the bridge in Stanitsa Luganskaya which had been blown up by Kiev forces in 2015, and since then pedestrians have to walk across the Severskiy Donets river and the line of contact drawn along it via a wooden ramp.
"As you can see people walk here on a wooden ramp. They are the hostages of the politicians and the deadlock of the military. For those people the bridge should be reconstructed, and there should be no more excuses. There patience should be rewarded despite the political agenda of the sides," said the Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug.
"The territory on the both sides should be de-mined as it has been agreed to."
Currently there is only one official checkpoint at the line of contact in LPR area of responsibility in Donbass and it is accessible via the bridge in vicinity of Stanitsa Luganskaya. Only pedestrian traffic here is possible thanks to a temporary conduit over the damaged parts of the bridge that was blown up by Ukrainian forces. LPR has been continuously proposing to rebuild it.
