Statement by LPR leader’s press service on meeting of delegates in Donetsk
The press service of LPR head denied the participation of LPR representatives in the meeting of delegates in Donetsk.
On 18 July 2017, mass media broke the news about a meeting of Ukrainian regions’ representatives who announced the establishment of a new state Malorossiya; the participation of LPR representatives in the meeting was reported.
LPR did not send its official representatives to Donetsk for considering the establishment of Malorossiya. The project has not even been discussed with LPR.
The Lugansk People’s Republic was established as a result of people’s expressing their will, and we have no right to make such moves without taking into account the opinions of the Republic’s residents.
The Republic believes that it is important to remain committed to the Minsk Agreements and will continue to demand their fulfilment by Ukraine.

On 18 July, the DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko announced the establishment in the territory of former Ukraine of a new state - Malorossiya with the capital in Donetsk. According to Zakharchenko, the decision was supported by representatives of LPR and a number of Kiev-controlled areas.
