Statement by Acting LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik in connection with Golubovskoye shelling
LUGANSK, June 7 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Today, on June 7, 2018, the Ukrainian side committed a new barbaric crime against civilians of the Lugansk People’s Republic. At 10:30, Ukrainian forces delivered a mortar strike at the Golubovskoye settlement outside the Kirovsk town. As a result, several civilians - commuter bus passengers -- suffered bodily injuries. I express my sympathy to the victims and wish them soonest recovery.
The tragic incident became possible because of regular violations of the Minsk Agreements by Kiev forces.
For an extended period of time, LPR representatives and international observers have been recording Ukrainian armed forces’ heavy military equipment and banned weapons as missing from permanent storage sites and their massing in immediate proximity to the contact line.
The fact of strikes at peaceful LPR towns by Ukrainian forces was recorded by LPR representatives at the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination. I have no doubt that all the crimes committed against Donbass civilians will be legally assessed and that the culprits will be punished.
L.I. Pasechnik, acting Head of the Lugansk People’s Republic
