State of emergency in place in several LPR districts due to water supply deterioration
LPR Сouncil of ministers declared an emergency in several districts of the Republic due to water supply deterioration.
"Due to insufficient water supply on LPR territory, impossibility of maintaining health and safety regulations, in accordance with Article 80 of Civil Protection Code… LPR Сouncil of ministers declares an emergency in some districts of Lugansk People's Republic," the statement reads.
The Ministry for Emergency situations and the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities are to develop and agree a plan for supplying water to LPR towns and districts.
"Luganskvoda", the enterprise of water supply, is to redistribute water reserves. Local authorities and The Ministry for Emergency have been tasked to provide systematic delivery of water to population.
LPR Head Igor Plotnitsky earlier charged Republic's envoys to Minsk negotiations with bringing up the issue of cutting LPR territory water supplies from Ukrainian side. Kiev has shut off two water pipe lines delivering water to LPR territory - the first one is pumping water to Lugansk area from Kiev-controlled West water treatment plant in vicinity of Lisichansk, and Petrovskiy duct.
