Schools in Lugansk close due to API epidemic among pupils
LUGANSK, February 3 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Lugansk schools have introduced quarantine regulations to avoid the spread of acute respiratory infection, the Lugansk Prophylactic-Epidemiological Station said.
"Schools have been closed since February 4 as the number of API cases among pupils have exceeded the epidemic threshold," the report reads.
The quarantine regulations will remain in place until February 10.
As of February 1, quarantine was announced in 13 educational institutions of Lugansk.
The number of ARI cases in the LPR remained below the epidemic threshold, the Chief Medical Officer of Lugansk Spartak Gavrik said on January 27.
The number was expected to rise in February.
"We shall concentrate our efforts on preventing the spread of the virus, we shall check public places, 24-hour functioning places," Gavrik said in his statement.
