Russian UN Mission regrets EU and Kiev reps failed to join discussion on Donbass

LUGANSK, December 2 (Lugansk Media Centre) – The Russian Permanent Mission to the UN in New York said it regrets the demarche of its German, French and Ukrainian counterparts who refused to participate in the UNSC Arria-formula meeting on the Donbass conflict settlement.

"We are very much satisfied with the outcome of the UNSC Arria-formula meeting on the implementation of the Minsk Agreements with the participation of the Donbass representatives. Important things were said and explained firsthand to UN member states," First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyanskiy wrote on his Twitter.

"The demarche of our colleagues from @GermanyUN @franceonu @UKRinUN  was irrelevant: participation was high and internet audience considerable. They just showed their true face and put Normandie format at serious risk: it may be useful only if #Minsk agreements are implemented," he added.

"We regret their cowardness, selfishness and lack of desire for dialogue which is the basis of diplomacy. It goes without saying that unwise position of our German and French colleagues will be taken into account in our bilateral and multilateral relations," Polyanskiy wrote adding the DoubleStandards hashtag to his twit.

Donbass representatives spoke on Wednesday in the Arria-Formula format today at the UN SC event for the first time in the Republics' history. Despite the format of an informal forum to share opinions, the representatives of France and Germany to the UN have blocked the webcast of the discussion over the implementation of the Minsk Package of Measures on the Settlement in Ukraine.

The Russian Permanent Mission to the UN in New York, USA, broadcasted the speeches on its Youtube channel.
