Russian charities send over 14 thousand New Year presents to LPR children
LUGANSK, January 5 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Russian charities have sent over 14 thousand New Year presents to LPR children with a humanitarian aid convoy of Russia's EMERCOM, said the Republic's acting deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers Alexander Drobot.
"Over 14,000 presents have been sent for our children: sweets, food, toys, books, household things, all collected wholeheartedly by Russians," he said.
"The majority of presents were given to the children of frontline towns; almost every kid out there received a present from Russia."
The 72nd humanitarian aid convoy of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM) delivered 152 tons of relief supplies to the Republic on December 21. On 23 November, 15 EMERCOM trucks delivered to Lugansk 162 tons of humanitarian aid, including 134 tons of baby food packages, 27 tons of medications and one ton of medical supplies. The first Russian humanitarian aid convoy arrived in LPR on 22 August 2014. Russia has delivered more than 71,500 tons of relief supplies to LPR and DPR residents since.
