Russia registeres 12,000 applications for citizenship from LPR residents
LUGANSK, June 14 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Nearly 12,000 application for Russian citizenship from LPR residents have been registered in Russia and are being processed, said deputy head of the Interior Ministry department for the Rostov region Vyacheslav Nagosha.
Today the first group of LPR residents travelled to Novoshakhtinsk to receive heir Russian passports.
"We have already approved 1,200 applications, all of them in less than a month."
Overall, four migration service offices in the Rostov Region are issuing passports to Donbass residents.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed an order to simplify the procedure for obtaining a Russian passport for residents of the LPR and DPR. According to the order, the LPR and DPR residents can now apply for Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure if they provide IDs showing their permanent residence in the Donbass Republics. Marriage or divorce certificates, birth certificates, documents confirming name change or foreign citizenship should be filed as well, if applicable.
