Russia delivers 80,000 tons of relief supplies to LPR, DPR over five years - Ministry
LUGANSK, November 7 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Russian Emergency Situations Ministry (EMERCOM) convoys have delivered more than 80,000 tons of humanitarian aid to the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics since August 2014, LPR Emergencies Ministry Rebuilding Monitoring Centre director Vitaly Kucherov said.
“The first Russian humanitarian aid convoy arrived in the LPR on August 22, 2014,” Kucherov said. “Russia has delivered to the LPR and the DPR more than 80,000 tons of relief supplies since.”
“We express our deep gratitude to the Russian Federation for the provided assistance which helped us avoid a humanitarian crisis in the Republic,” he said.
Earlier on Thursday, the 90th EMERCOM humanitarian aid convoy delivered 134.4 tons of food kits for infants and toddlers to Lugansk.
“No emergencies happened along the way; hot meals and tea were provided to the EMERCOM personnel,”Kucherov said.
On October 31, 12 EMERCOM trucks delivered to the LPR 129.6 tons of relief supplies. The cargo contained 23,040 food kits for children up to three years of age.
