Russia Day in Lugansk: Giant passport unfolded at central square (PHOTOS)

LUGANSK, June 12 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Mir Luganshine activists have unfolded a giant Russian passport at the Lugansk central square on the Russia Day rally and concert.

The mock-up of 200 square meters was brought to the square as a famous Russian song  'Russia Go Forward' by Oleg Gazmanov was playing.

It was unfolded as Russian national anthem was playing.

The giant passport showed the LPR as a place of permanent residence and June 12, 2014 as a birth date.

Actvists posed for photographers standing in the gap symbolizing photo of the passport holder.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed an order to simplify the procedure for obtaining a Russian passport for residents of the LPR and DPR. According to the order, the LPR and DPR residents can now apply for Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure if they provide IDs showing their permanent residence in the Donbass Republics. Marriage or divorce certificates, birth certificates, documents confirming name change or foreign citizenship should be filed as well, if applicable.

Russia Day is a holiday celebrating the independence, it was made a public holiday in 1992.
