LPR Program-2023 prioritizes economic development - Pasechnik

LUGANSK, May 8 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Economic upturn is a key objective of the socio-economic development program which the Lugansk People’s Republic is preparing, acting LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik said during the discussion of basic program points with representatives of Lugansk associations of veterans and population self-organization entities.

“Many meetings have been held with different groups of the population. It’s very important to involve all representatives of our Republic in the discussion because I would like the programme to take into account the interests of all people,” Pasechnik said.

“A majority of proposals under discussion concern financial issues such as an increase in pensions and welfare. They depend on our economic development, so the main objective of the Republic’s leadership and its residents is to contribute to the economic upturn,” he said.

“The faster we put it (economy - eds Lugansk Media Centre) on track, develop and strengthen, the more stable our financial position will be,” Pasechnik said.

On March 14, acting LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik said at a session of the Mir Luganschine Republican Council that LPR residents would be able to participate in working out the Republic’s five-year socio-economic development programme and offered Mir Luganschine to arrange a broad public discussion.

LPR residents can phone hotlines or visit the Mir Luganschine website to bring forward their proposals concerning the programme. They are also welcome to present them at all Mir Luganschine executive committees and grassroots across the Republic.

Mir Luganschine is the largest social movement in the LPR numbering more than 101,000 members. It was established before the election to LPR People’s Council on November 2, 2014. The Mir Luganschine candidates won 69.42 percent of votes finishing first in the election. Acting LPR head Leonid Pasechnik was unanimously elected chairman of the movement at its 3rd Republican Congress on February 17.
