Pipeline explosion repairs completed - Luganskgaz
LUGANSK, February 16 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Specialists of the state-owned Luganskgaz enterprise have completed repairs on a gas pipeline that was damaged in an explosion, the company’s press service reported.
In the evening of February 15, a gas pipeline explosion started a fire in the 2-ya Belomorskaya Street area in Lugansk’s Malaya Vergunka neighbourhood. The flame height reached 20 metres. Luganskgaz specialists and Lugansk People’s Republic Emergency Situations Ministry rescuers extinguished the fire at the scene of the explosion. The accident left some 100 customers without gas supply.
As of 10:30, February 16, Luganskgaz specialists have completed the welding works. After verification, gas supply resumed through the repaired section, the report said.
Luganskgaz is currently reconnecting customers to the gas supply system.
On January 15, saboteurs blasted a pipeline near the Glafirovka village, Lutugino district leaving without gas supply some 13,000 customers and several vital facilities including schools, medical centres and boiler houses. Repairs at the scene had been completed by the evening of the same day.
