Over 100 private coal-mining enterprises operate in LPR - Ministry
Some 110 private businesses in the Lugansk People’s Republic engage in coal production, LPR Fuel, Energy and Coal Ministry reported.
“About 110 companies produce coal, some 80 companies are in coal processing, and several businesses are focused on wholesale trade only,” the Ministry said.
“Today, LPR coal producers have destinations in the Russian Federation; we also implement a state programme for high-sulphur coal sales in LPR territory,” it said.
The programme involves private companies which cannot enter markets outside LPR, “so that these companies could stay in business and pay salaries to people.”
On Tuesday, Ministry officials met representatives of private coal-mining enterprises over prospects for developing the Republic’s coal-mining industry.
