OSCE checks LPR Victory Day military parade hardware every day – People’s Militia
OSCE Special Monitoring Mission representatives daily check LPR People’s militia hardware which will participate in Lugansk Victory Day parade, to make sure that it has no live ammunition, LPR People’s Militia spokesman Andrey said commenting the statement by Ukrainian General Staff public relations department deputy head Vladislav Voloshin who had alleged that the V-Day parade in Lugansk was a pretext to violate the agreements on the withdrawal of heavy weapons of calibre over 100mm, and that Ukrainian army positions were within the range of military parade artillery.
“We’ve got used to hearing such statements. OSCE mission representatives daily visit our hardware storage sites,” the spokesman said. “Every day, they record that the hardware is there and that it has no ammunition.”
“OSCE representatives earlier said they would monitor the 9 May parade,” he added.
LPR militia has already held the first rehearsal of the parade at a firing range. Dress rehearsals are due to begin on Lugansk Teatralnaya Square from 4 May.
On 6 April, OSCE SMM representatives inspected LPR military parade hardware, no irregularities were recorded.
LPR leadership informed OSCE SMM about military parade preparations in advance, according to the spokesman. In a letter to OSCE SMM Principal Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug, LPR authorities listed the pieces of hardware taking part in the parade, their serial numbers and storage sites.
OSCE SMM has the opportunity to inspect military parade hardware any time, Marochko said.
