LUGANSK, August 2 (Lugansk Media Centre) - The number of applications submitted to Lugansk People’s Republic universities has reached over 20,000, up 2,000 from last year, head of the LPR Education and Science Ministry Department for Higher, Supplementary and Vocational Education Elena Shkarina said at a press briefing at the Lugansk Media Centre.
“July 31 was the application closing date in intake 2018,” Shkarina said. “As of today, more than 20,000 applications have been submitted to seven higher education centres.”
The number applicants has increased by 2,000 from last year, she added.
“Vladimir Dal Lugansk National University reported the largest number of applicants (5,545),” Shkarina said. “It is followed by the Taras Shevchenko National University of Lugansk and the Donbass State Technical University.”
Earlier, the LPR Education and Science Ministry reported that more than 5,000 11 graders and over 8,000 9 graders had finished secondary schools in the Republic this year.
