No mass arrests planned during anti-saboteur operation – LPR interior minister
LUGANSK, November 30 (Lugansk Media Centre) - LPR Interior Ministry is not planning mass arrests as part of the ongoing anti-saboteur operation,” LPR Interior Minister Igor Kornet told Lugansk 24 television channel on Thursday.
“Law-enforcement bodies are continuing to implement planned measures, no mass arrests are expected,” Kornet said.
“Police will detain suspects on the strength of hard facts of criminal activity; there’ll be no witch-hunt,” he said.
Earlier Kornet said that LPR State Security Ministry and Interior Ministry had obtained evidence of LPR high-ranking officials’ collaboration with Ukrainian secret services and involvement in fake government overthrow in LPR in September 2016.
Acting LPR head Leonid Pasechnik stated that the Republic’s authorities would not launch a witch-hunt under the pretext of “fighting the fifth column.”
