Nine people taken to hospital after LPR Krasnodon district multi-car accident
LUGANSK, December 6 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Nine people were injured as five cars collided on a slippery road in the Lugansk People’s Republic Krasnodon district, and a passenger bus overturned as it was trying to drive around the traffic jam, the LPR Emergencies Ministry press service reported.
The accident occurred between the Samsonovka and Pridorozhnoye villages at around 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
“According to preliminary information, a driver wanted to overtake a car causing a head-on collision on the slippery road. Three other cars were caught in the accident too. A bus skidded into a ditch and overturned as its driver was trying to get around the pile-up,” the Emergencies Ministry said.
Rescuers said that the bus driver had evacuated all the 30 passengers (including seven injured persons), disconnected the car battery and called an emergency service.
"In the five-vehicle crash, a driver and a passenger were injured. All the nine road accident victims were rushed to Krasnodon’s Central Hospital. Rescuers disconnected car batteries of all vehicles and provided essential aid to the people," the Ministry said.
The traffic jam has been eliminated by now. An investigation into the road accident is underway.
