More than 5.6 thousand LPR residents to Russia travel to Russia to receive passports

LUGANSK, July 31 (Lugansk Media Centre) – LPR Ministry of Transport has organized 125 special bus trips that took more than 5.6 thousand LPR residents to Russia to receive passports, the Minister of Transport Alexander Basov said.

"Since June 14, 125 bus trips have been organized on the route "Lugansk- Novoshakhtinsk - Lugansk", 5,640 citizens have been taken to Russia and back, and they have received their Russian passports.

"We are planning to rise the route's capacity to 400 people per day. We are ready to react promptly if it will be necessary to transport more people," he said.

More than 10,000 LPR and DPR residents have received Russian passports under a simplified procedure, TASS News Agency reported on July 17 citing deputy chairman of the Russian State Duma committee on CIS, Eurasian Integration and Russian Diaspora Relations Viktor Vodolatskiy.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed an order to simplify the procedure for obtaining a Russian passport for residents of the LPR and DPR. According to the order, the LPR and DPR residents can now apply for Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure if they provide IDs showing their permanent residence in the Donbass Republics. Marriage or divorce certificates, birth certificates, documents confirming name change or foreign citizenship should be filed as well, if applicable.
