LUGANSK, September 14 (Lugansk Media Centre) - The Southern Branch of the Luganskvoda state-owned enterprise has replaced some 9,000 metres of water pipes in Lugansk as part of a republican programme since the beginning of this year, a city administration official said citing Southern Branch director Konstantin Polkin.

“The reconstruction programme is nearly 70 percent complete; we’ve replaced some nine of 13 kilometres (of pipes),” Polkin said.

Separately, Luganskvoda overhauled 1.5 kilometres of the city water supply network in maintenance ahead of the winter season, he added.

The first stage of the republican programme was fully completed in 2017 as Luganskvoda replaced 12 kilometres of rundown pipes. Some 13 kilometres of water supply lines will be replaced in 2018.

Luganskvoda specialists are implementing the government-approved programme on upgrading water supply networks in the LPR capital in 2017-2018.*jk
