Luganskgaz not to increase natural gas prices for LPR residents
LUGANSK, April 30 (Lugansk Media Centre) - The Luganskgaz state-owned enterprise has no plans to increase the price of natural gas for private customers in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Luganskgaz director Tatyana Bogorodko said at a press briefing at the Lugansk Media Centre.
“We have no plans to increase prices which have remained stable since 2014,” Bogorodko said.
“There is a seven- to eight times difference in gas prices between the LPR and Ukraine. We heard the Ukrainian social policy minister saying that more prices hikes were forthcoming, so their prices will probably be ten to 11 times higher than in the Lugansk People’s Republic,” the Luganskgaz director said.
Earlier, Bogorodko said that the price of natural gas for Ukrainian customers was five to six times higher than for LPR residents.
The Lugansk Media Centre survey conducted in November 2018 showed the price of natural gas vehicle fuel in the LPR was 6.61 rubles lower than in Ukraine.
Another survey showed that as of April 11, 2019, the price of 92 and 95 octane petrol in the LPR was 1.7 times lower than in Ukraine; also, LPR residents in April paid three times less for electricity than residents of Ukraine.
The gas prices for all types of consumers are available on the Luganskgaz website.
