Lugansk schools to remain closed until February 17
LUGANSK, February 7 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Lugansk authorities have extended the quarantine measures in schools until February 17, the Lugansk Prophylactic-Epidemiological Station said.
"The city HQ on technogenic and environmental safety and emergencies decided to suspend educational activities in schools until February 17 on the basis of the epidemiological analysis," the report reads.
Schools have been closed since February 4 as the number of API cases among pupils have exceeded the epidemic threshold.
As of February 1, quarantine was announced in 13 educational institutions of Lugansk.
The number of ARI cases in the LPR remained below the epidemic threshold, the Chief Medical Officer of Lugansk Spartak Gavrik said on January 27.
The number was expected to rise in February.
"We shall concentrate our efforts on preventing the spread of the virus, we shall check public places, 24-hour functioning places," Gavrik said in his statement.
