Lugansk Media Center website comes under massive DDoS attack
LUGANSK, Jun 26 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Lugansk Media Center website has been attacked by hackers early on Friday, the agency's Editor-in-Chief Sergey Meshkovoi said.
"This morning, the operation of the Lugansk Media Center state news agency website was shortly interrupted by a massive hacker DDoS attack," he said.
The technical support service said the cyber attack was so debilitating that the protection failed.
"The protection was promptly relaunched and the attack was smoothed out," Meshkovoi added.
He reminded this was not the first attempt to interrupt the website in more than five years of its functioning.
"All previous attempts failed for perpetrators and executers."
In 2017 alone, more than 150 cyber attacks on web resources of LPR organizations and enterprises were reported.
The Lugansk Media Center news agency was test launched on November 16, 2014 and became fully functioning on December 4, 2014. It was established to publish reliable information on the events across the LPR, to inform public of government's and law makers' activity, to publish laws and regulations.
Lugansk Media Center reporters have since been on the front edge of the information war, covering a widest range of topics, from military action to restoration of peaceful life, cultural events and efforts to rebuild the state's economy, legislative initiatives, everyday work in all the spheres of life, focusing on exclusive reports and stories.
