Lugansk holds Victory Day parade dress rehearsal (PHOTOS)
LUGANSK, May 7 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Lugansk People’s Republic Head Leonid Pasechnik attended the dress rehearsal of Victory Day parade in Lugansk on Tuesday.
“The scheduled practice showed the servicemen’s high-level marching and ceremonial skills,” the LPR People’s Militia press service reported.
Commander of LPR Operations and Tactical Group Col Yan Leschenko will command the parade as in 2018. It will involve LPR militia, police, Emergencies Ministry personnel and Lugansk Cossack Corps cadets.
A WW II T-34 tank flanked by war-era motorcycles led the column of T-72 tanks, BMP-2 armoured personnel carries, BTR-80 infantry fighting vehicles, Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers (152mm), 2A65 Msta-B howitzers (152mm), D-30 howitzers (122mm), BM-21 multiple launch rocket systems and Strela-10 air defence systems.
The LPR militia launched V-Day parade preparations on April 8.
Also, on Tuesday, Pasechnik handed in orders and medals to seven LPR militiamen for courage and devotion to duty. The awardees will take part in the V-Day parade in Lugansk on May 9.
