Lugakom launches 47 new base stations across LPR

LUGANSK, May 20 (Lugansk Media Centre) – LPR state mobile operator Lugakom has launched 47 new base stations to improve the quality of connection across the Republic, said the Ministry of Mass Communications.

The new stations include 39 stations of the 3G generation, and eight of the 2G generation.

Lugakom embarked on the upgrade program in 2018, the renewed network was launched on May 1, 2019.

"The network building does not stop there, to prove it we have launched 47 new base stations in early May," the report reads.

In Lugansk, two 2G and 39 3G stations are in operation.

"New stations will make a difference in terms of connection quality and percentage of successful connections, voice messages quality and data rates under peak demand," the Ministry said.

On 18 June 2015, the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications announced launching of a new domestic mobile operator Lugakom. LPR post offices began to sell Lugakom user kits in September. The number of Lugakom mobile carrier subscribers has grown four times since the beginning of 2017 and reached 400 thousand.
