LPR to pay financial aid to Ukrainian WW II veterans until 20 December

LPR will pay Victory Day financial aid to World War II veterans in Kiev-held territory of Lugansk Region until 20 December, the Republic’s Labour and Social Policy Minister Svetlana Malakhova told a news briefing at Lugansk Media Centre on Monday.
“As of now, LPR is continuing to make financial aid payments to Great Patriotic War veterans and some other groups,” she said. “The payments for the citizens living in our territory will continue until 30 September. The period might be extended, if necessary.”
“As for our fellow countrymen who live on the other side which is currently under Ukraine’s control, these payments will continue until 20 December,” the minister said.
LPR Council of Ministers earlier passed a resolution on paying lumpsum benefits to WW II veterans in Lugansk Region, including those living in Ukraine-held areas, by Victory Day.
On 17 February 2017, DPR and LPR Heads Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitskiy launched the program of humanitarian assistance for residents of Kiev-held  part of Donbass.
The main goal of the programme is to provide financial and medical aid and educational services to socially vulnerable groups in Kiev-held territory of Lugansk Region.
LPR Telecom and Mass Communications Ministry launched the humanitarian programme website.
