LUGANSK, March 31 (Lugansk Media Centre) - The Lugansk Railways state unitary enterprise has suspended the rail link with the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Lugansk People's Republic Infrastructure and Transport Ministry said.
The World Health Organisation called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019.
As of now, the number of coronavirus contacts has exceeded 697,000; of those over 33,000 died. Coronavirus cases were diagnosed in Ukraine and Russia; the LPR has confirmed one COVID-19 case.
Earlier, the LPR Emergency Sanitary and Anti-Epidemic Commission shut down public catering facilities, ordered transition to distance learning from March 30 and cancelled public transportation incentives.
LPR Head Leonid Pasechnik said that the Republic’s authorities were doing everything to prevent the import of the new type of coronavirus. The LPR government bodies suspended the meetings with residents as part of COVID-19 lockdown measures.
