LPR State Security Ministry officers detain Ukrainian “Right Sector” spy
LUGANSK, February 17 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Lugansk People’s Republic State Security Ministry (MGB) officers detained a Ukrainian national tasked by Ukraine’s extremist organisation “Right Sector” with compromising LPR security, the MGB press service reported.
“MGB officers exposed Ukrainian citizen Viktor Filipchenko who had arrived in the LPR to carry out intelligence activities for foreign secret services,” the report said.
Filipchenko was ordered by member of far-right organisation “Right Sector” Igor Gusev to gather military and political, economic and socially significant information with the view of using it to the detriment of the Republic’s security and defence capability,” the MGB press service said.
“The foreign intelligence ambitions were stopped; the above persons’ entry into the Republic is prohibited,” it added.
According to the note to Article 335 (High Treason) and Article 336 (Espionage), a timely report on recruitment by a foreign secret service exempts a citizen from criminal responsibility.
The LPR State Security Ministry asks residents to report all illegal actions by Ukrainian servicemen, volunteer battalions, police or secret service. Call +38 (0642) 34-51-64, +38 (099) 562-89-02, +38 (072) 163-28-00 or write to firstname.lastname@example.org
