LPR Security Ministry opens 194 criminal cases since 2014
LPR State Security Ministry (MGB) opened 194 criminal cases over sabotage, espionage, high treason, office crimes and other offenses over the past two years, MGB head Leonid Pasechnik said.
“MGB opened 25 sabotage cases, 21 espionage and high treason cases and 45 office crime cases,” Pasechnik said.
“The ministry is taking measures against economic crimes and illicit tobacco and alcohol trade,” he said.
Over the past two years, “MGB returned to the Republic’s budget hundreds of million rubles. In 2016 alone, seven criminal cases were opened over illegal profits worth more than 236 million roubles and 13 criminal cases over causing economic damage to the tune of 356 million rubles,” the MGB head said.
MGB officers also exposed large budget money theft schemes, he added.
