LPR says video talks of humanitarian group useless as long as Kiev fails to commit
LUGANSK, November 12 (Lugansk Media Centre) – LPR does not see any reason to hold a videoconference of the humanitarian subgroup of the Contact Group as long as Kiev fails to fulfill its obligations, said LPR representative in the Contact Group humanitarian subgroup Olga Kobtseva.
Darka Olifer, press secretary of Ukrainian representative at Minsk talks Leonid Kuchma, said that due to technical reasons the meeting of the humanitarian subgroup did not take place and suggested another date, November 13, for a videoconference instead.
"We believe it is useless to organize a videoconference tomorrow as Ukraine still has not fulfilled the obligations it assumed on October 29 at the Minsk talks and has not informed us on the situation with the detainees," Kobtseva said.
Kiev delays the progress, she added, and it does not do any good in terms of the prisoner exchange that has been anticipated for a long time.
Following the talks on October 29 Kobtseva said that Ukraine had not carried out legal clearance of the LPR supporters it holds imprisoned.
She also accused Kiev of deliberately protracting the exchange.
The exchange of captives between Donbass Republics and Ukraine is one of the key issues of Minsk Agreements.
