LPR reports first case of COVID-19 – Health Authority
LUGANSK, March 30 (Lugansk Media Centre) – LPR has registered its first COVID-19 case, the patient is being treated in the Lugansk city hospital No.4, the head doctor of the Lugansk sanitary-epidemiological station Dmitry Dokashenko said.
The World Health Organisation called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. As of now, the number of coronavirus contacts has exceeded 638,000; of those over 30,000 died. Coronavirus cases were earlier reported in Ukraine and Russia.
"We have a confirmed case (of coronavirus infection). He is being treated in the Lugansk city hospital No.4.," Dokashenko said.
"We are running additional tests. All the orders of the LPR Head are being fulfilled across the LPR, all the decisions of the Emergency Sanitary-Anti-Epidemic Board are also fulfilled," he said.
To prevent the spreading of the coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and pursuant to the LPR Head’s decree on high alert and the decree on certain issues pertaining to high alert, government bodies, the LPR Head Administration, the LPR parliament speaker and his deputies and parliamentarians suspended the meetings with residents. A majority of LPR ministries and municipal administrations are also suspending the reception of citizens.
