LPR reports 471 COVID-19 cases
LUGANSK, Jun 22 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Lugansk People’s Republic medics have diagnosed 471 COVID-19 cases since late March, the Ministry of Health said.
“As of June 22, 9 a.m., the Republic has 471 confirmed COVID-19 cases,” the report reads.
Since the outbreak came into light, 421 people recovered, 11 patients died.
The Ministry urged residents to call a doctor or hotline at the first signs of acute respiratory viral infection and observe self-isolation.
The World Health Organisation called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. As of now, the number of coronavirus contacts has exceeded 6.2 million; of those, over 379,000 have died. The LPR confirmed 427 COVID-19 cases.
To prevent the spreading of the coronavirus infection, the LPR authorities put the Republic on high alert and changed the mode of operation for government bodies, companies, organisations and transport. As present, most of restrictions have been eased due to the improving COVID-19 situation.
Earlier, the LPR Healthcare Ministry said that the coronavirus situation in the Republic had fully stabilized and that the government and medics were monitoring it.
The World Health Organisation announced COVID-19 a pandemic caused by novel coronavirus. The first cases were reported in China in late 2019. As of now, the number of the infected across the world has exceeded eight million; more than 445,000 have died, according to WHO.
