LUGANSK, June 29 (Lugansk Media Centre) - Lugansk People’s Republic medics confirmed 500 coronavirus infection cases in the Republic, the LPR Healthcare Ministry press service reported.
“As of 9:00, June 29, the LPR had 500 confirmed COVID patients,” the report said. “A total of 442 persons have recovered and left hospitals after two negative tests since the beginning of the coronavirus infection outbreak.”
One death was reported bringing the total of lethal cases to 12.
Earlier, the Ministry said that the coronavirus situation in the Republic had fully stabilized and that the government and medics were monitoring it.
The World Health Organisation called the COVID-19 coronavirus infection a pandemic. The first coronavirus infection cases were recorded in China in late 2019. As of now, the number of coronavirus contacts has exceeded 9.9 million; of those, over 498,000 have died.
To prevent the spreading of the coronavirus infection, the LPR authorities put the Republic on high alert and changed the mode of operation of government bodies, companies, organizations and transport. As present, most of restrictions have been eased due to the improving COVID-19 situation.
