LPR received no notification on Stanitsa checkpoint opening – People's Militia
LUGANSK, June 1 (Lugansk Media Centre) – Ukraine has not formally notified the LPR on the checkpoints re-opening in Donbass, said LPR People's Militia press officer Yakov Osadchiy.
"Due to the upcoming visit of the country's minister of foreign affairs Dmitry Kuleba and the head of the president's office Andrey Ermak to Germany, Ukraine has to put its care for people in the JFO zone on display. To that end, the JFO HQ announced that all the checkpoints including the one in Stanitsa Luganskaya are shifting to summer schedule and will operate from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m," he said.
"The move can hardly be called a happy PR stance for Vladimir Zelensky as the measures to fight coronavirus are still in place across Ukraine and LPR received no notifications on the checkpoint opening."
The World Health Organisation announced COVID-19 a pandemic caused by novel coronavirus. The first cases were reported in China in late 2019. As of now, the number of the infected across the world has exceeded 5.9 million; more than 367,000 have died, according to WHO. Both Russia and Ukraine reported COVID-19 outbreaks. Earlier, the LPR confirmed 419 COVID-19 cases.
