LPR raises lump sum payments to WWII veterans
LUGANSK, April 5 (Lugansk Media Centre) – LPR Council of Ministers has boosted one-time payments to WWII veterans payable annually on the eve of the Victory Day.
The Minister of Labor and Social Policy Svetlana Malakhova said that this year nearly 27 thousand veterans will receive the lump sum payments, including the families of deceased veterans.
The veterans of various categories are eligible for up to 15,000 rubles (230 USD). The veterans-liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster are to receive 7-8,000 rubles.
The payments are made from April 15 to May 5, application for extension until September 30 are accepted.
Earlier the largest Victory Day payment was 12,000 rubles.
