LPR quarantines 14 people with suspected Covid-19
LUGANSK, March 13 (Lugansk Media Centre) - As many as 14 people have been placed under quarantine in the LPR as the new coronavirus spreads across the globe, the chief state sanitary doctor Dmitry Dokashenko told LuganskMediaCenter.
"Currently 14 people are under dynamic surveillance. They have not been isolated, but are quarantined at their homes, they are not allowed to go out.
"No patients have been hospitalized (in connection with Covid-19)."
Dokashenko said that no cases of coronavirus had been registed in the Republic.
The operative HQ has been established to prevent the spread of the disease.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently declared the Covid-19 outbreak to be a pandemic. According to the WHO, a pandemic is declared when a new disease for which people do not have immunity spreads around the world beyond expectations.
The WHO report says that almost 125,000 cases have now been reported, from 118 countries and territories. In the past two weeks, the number of cases reported outside China has increased almost 13-fold, and the number of affected countries has almost tripled. Globally, 4,613 deaths have been confirmed.
